Olimpia Splendid is thrilled to share some exciting news with you where we provided a generous donation to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, TX. Our donation includes 6 x 10,000 BTU Dolceclima Compact portable air conditioning units, that will be used to provide temporary cooling in the cheetah enclosures during the scorching Texas summer months. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and welfare of endangered species, public education, scientific research, and natural land management.
Their dedicated team of caregivers, led by the Senior Carnivore Care Specialist, works tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of a variety of carnivorous species, including cheetahs, red wolves, Mexican gray wolves, black-footed cats, and maned wolves. However, the scorching Texas summers, with temperatures often exceeding 100+ degrees Fahrenheit, can be challenging for some of these animals.The Dolceclima AC units are strategically placed in the animals’ enclosures, creating cool retreats where they can seek reprive from the sweltering heat.
